Dress Design for Shabby Apple Dresses

Shabby Apple is hosting another design contest so I thought Id try it out.

MOOD BOARD

My inspiration for my mini line are wrap dresses with little twists. I saw an image for the movie Black Book and I knew that she represented what a Shabby Apple was; strong, confident, and stylish. I wanted to keep my designs simple and classic styles.

Shabby Apple

MAC

Two days ago I bought the coolest (well in my opinion) blush ever! Its the MAC venomous villain collection and I've been anxiously waiting for this line to come out. Maleficent collection is my personal favorite although I think they got too literal with the colors for the collection e.g. purple lipstick. With the right outfit and the right attitude I think it could be pulled off but its just not very practical but I give MAC an A+++++++ for the aesthetics of the product.

Vuitton storefront

On my trip to Las Vegas I walked past a rather large Louis Vuitton store on the strip and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it. I regret not taking a picture of the entire building because it had a giant screen with the trademark Louis Vuitton print. The store is stocked with fall accessories even though it was like 80 degrees at 10:00pm. Unfortunately the store was closed when I passed by and I was unable to see the store inside.

Fashion in the Museums

In 2009 Michel Berandi had a few of his pieces shown at the MOCA. Sadly I was unable to attend it but when I heard that he had another showing at PMCA I wasn't going to miss my chance. When I got to the museum I was disappointed to find out that only one outfit was being shown. Nevertheless I was awed by the exquisite attention to detail. The outfit shown was a black leather trench coat, tights laced with hair, and horn heels.

The Dark Lord

Odyn Vovk aka The Dark Lord is an underground menswear designer characterized by his goth-like clothing and is easily one of my favorite designers. Odyn Vovk has used props such as medical masks on the runway and hairy necklaces. With each collection he has slowly incorporated more womenswear... hopefully it will continue!
